Well, at long last, I think that a monster may have been created. See, when you get me on a computer with unlimited Internet access, such as these that we have at Olympic College, you find that I'm more likely to find dumb things to do that I couldn't have done before. I miss having a laptop to store beaucoups images on, thus giving my LJ appearance a little more variety, but when HAL took a dump and had to be put out of his misery, I lost that option. Now that I'm back for a few hours on a Sunday afternoon, I can blow some free time doing nothing major and keeping myself busy until it cools off a bit outside. On the agenda: finding some cool-ass Wumpscut photos to save to my student user account. Why? Do I really need to answer that?

That heinous rumor that it rains most of the time in Washington's a bunch of hogwash! If you don't know any better, stop by Bremerton during the mid-to-late summer and see just how wrong you are. That looks like a damned nice bit of sun out there right now, and I don't see too many clouds in the sky.

On a personal note, I've found that I've been getting quite excited lately about the chance to roleplay again for a while. My friend invited me back to join their online RPG that I'd dropped out of a couple of years ago. I'd like to give it a shot, since I've got a couple of new characters that I really never had the chance to develop that well in the stupid Camarilla. However, the more excited I find myself getting over such a pastime, the more I have to be careful not to think too much on the matter, for it's a tendency of a gamer geek to obsess over characters (people who don't even exist) and lose touch with who they are as people in the real world. I've seen it happen a lot before, especially to the more insecure person I used to be years ago. Reality, as dull and uneventful as it may sometimes be around here, is still far more fulfilling than any game I could be in. But, since my brain's a hungry brain and not easily satisfied by television shows or Net surfing, I have to make sure it only gets fed healthy foods. Creative writing's one of those rare treats that I can indulge in and only get fatter, in a good way, on the sweetness of creating something interesting out of nothing. It's a great way for me to get my exercise in while I'm in the review process of my writing projects. Until I get the official approval for my student loan this fall and spend some of that dough on a desktop computer for my room, I have to resort to either composing the old-fashioned way and quickly tiring out my left hand, or trying to set aside free time at the college library. Since there doesn't seem to be much going on today in the way of that preparation to re-enter the Worldtec game, I might as well get to some writing before I head off to shop for cheap kitty chow.

Chances are I'll find something else to go on aimlessly about on LJ and will return. In the meantime, I think I first need to breathe and not think about acquiring some caffeinated beverage somewhere around here. You'd think that a college campus would be completely closed up on a Sunday, especially in the middle of the summertime. But there are still some folks wandering about. Maybe there's a chance to get some coffee when I leave. Oh, who cares!
